The problem with a free VPN for iPhone in India
Apple removed VPN apps from the Indian App Store on government request in 2026, and the free VPN apps that remain are either capped at a few hundred megabytes or make money from your data. The built-in VPN settings on iOS only speak IKEv2, L2TP and IPsec, which Jio and Airtel identify and throttle.

iOS specifics worth knowing
iOS asks for permission to add a VPN configuration the first time. That is the client creating a tunnel, not a profile from us; nothing is installed system-wide and you can delete it in Settings at any time.
Low Power Mode does not stop the tunnel. Switching between Wi-Fi and Jio data reconnects automatically in Streisand and V2Box. If a site still shows your Jio IP after connecting, toggle the connection once; iOS occasionally keeps an old route for a few seconds.

What we know about you: almost nothing
There is no account here. You never give us an email, a phone number or a name, so there is no profile to leak, sell or hand over. We know that a key exists and when it expires. We do not know what you open with it. Our servers are outside India, which puts us out of scope of the CERT-In directive requiring providers to store user records for five years. Providers who kept servers inside the country had to choose between complying and leaving, and most of them left. Which VPN is free for iPhone in India?

Do I need to install a profile?
No. The client asks iOS once for permission to create a VPN tunnel. There is no configuration profile from us and nothing to remove later except the app.
Does it work on iPad?

Can I use the same key on my Mac?
Yes. V2Box and Hiddify have Mac versions and accept the same key.
Will it work on Jio 5G?
Yes. Reality traffic passes Jio 5G and 4G without APN changes. If speed drops at peak hours, switch from the UAE to Singapore.
Is it safe to use a VPN on iPhone?
The clients are open source or long established, the tunnel is encrypted, and we keep no logs. What is not safe is a free VPN app that pays for itself with your data.
